They were looking at their phones
or talking to the person they were with
or putting their headphones on
or staring at the ground.
But that’s fine.
Sometimes people have important things
to email other people or say to each other
or listen to or work out in their heads.
It didn’t stop you waving though,
coffee shop glass the only thing
stopping them hearing your shouts of YEEAAH.
